The chimney cap is missing at this unit. Bricks are also loose at the top of the chimney. It is important to maintain the integrity of the chimney cap as this keeps water from damaging the chimney and firebox below. This unit should be evaluated and repaired by a reputable chimney sweep, as s/he deems necessary.
